The Game is Rigged is an immersive multimedia installation that explores gender inequality through the visual language and logic of video games. As Albania moves toward European Union accession, where equality, human rights, and dignity are presented as fundamental values, a significant gap remains between these ideals and the lived realities of many women. The installation translates this gap into an interactive emotional experience.

Screened as part of Europe Week 2026, the installation transformed the exhibition space into a large-scale projection mapping environment structured as a video game. Visitors entered through a "Choose Your Hero" screen before progressing through three game levels inspired by real statistics on gender-based violence, femicide, and child marriage in Albania. Unlike traditional games, however, these levels were intentionally rigged and impossible to win. Obstacles expanded unexpectedly, safe spaces became dangerous, and victories were reversed without reason, exposing systems where the rules are fundamentally unfair.

Through original illustration, animation, character design, and immersive storytelling, The Game is Rigged transformed data into an emotional experience, inviting audiences to reflect on the distance between declared values and lived reality, and to question the invisible systems that continue to shape women's lives.
